Which one is the best? Yea yea yea. The best is a bad question. I have heard that facebook has been taking users from myspace, and that myspace is either not growing as fast as facebook... or maybe it's not as big as facebook. I don't know.

If you're going to pick one of the social networking sites to focus on building a reputation for marketing purposes which one would it be? Facebook?

I would have to say facebook. All of my friends and I prefer facebook to anything. Bebo is definately out of the question as it is now trying to be like facebook but failing! The one good bit about it is that people can easily get onto your profile without signing up which could potentially get you more traffic if used correctly.
Myspace could be possibly used for marketing, but I think for the most traffic facebook would be a good option ;)

I would have to say facebook just because everyone I know uses it.

I really like myspace though, just because of the profiles being able to be edited really well.

A lot of facebook apps really suck though.

Facebook, by far!
It's really easy to get friends too, on my fake account 'Joseph Gallagher' it took me 1 day to have 400 friends.
Send me a PM if you don't get how I did it.

Also the facebook groups are a great thing, if the group has under 5000 members you can email all of them at once with i.e. your offers, sharecash links or affiliate sites.

Remember to make the group attractive and play on emotions like, 'Stop using live puppies as share bait'

Now go earn some reputation/money!

Also,

If you want to add loads of people really quickly you can get programs that do it for you.

An example for myspace is friendblaster pro.

Most of these cost a small amount of money though.

There might be cracked versions, so it's not a big deal. To be honest, i've NEVER joined either myspace, facebook, twitter, etc. etc. I don't see why i should, i mean, It's easy to contact people in other ways... I use forums to come in contact with people, mainly because i know who people is, and i can pick out the best of the best, to be my friends. The good thing about this, is that you can see from the users reputation and post count, how active he is, and you can also see how trusted he is. I might not get as many details about the person, as for pictures, where he lives, and stuff like that, but i really don't care about it...

Back to topic..

I would definately pick facebook, i feel like it's taking over myspace, i don't see any myspace links to profiles, or anything like that anymore. Twitter would also be a good choice, but i don't think it is as popular as facebook.
This topic actually gave me a nice idea on how to improve my earnings, but if i really bother trying it, i'm not sure..

I had another couple of thoughts you might be interested in.

If you are adding loads of people to advertise to them and you want to use facebook, the best way to do it would be to make a group, but on myspace you should definately make a personal page. No-one takes notice of groups on myspace.

Just incase you were planning anything :3

If your really looking for marketing, don't go for large companies, cause it's not worth the money. Find something small, invest in it, promote it, and watch some auto-redirects pop you some fat wads of cash.
