I decided to bite the bullet and follow Stacy's lead.
Ladies...I hopped on a scale and sure enough, I've put on
weight this time from not exercising. I really think I've been
harboring some stress from the year on a subconscious level,
and it's surfacing at this point (and taking on the form of
flabbiness x 10). I've gained 8 lb! (I'm pre-AF, but
still....that's more than usual, and it came on quickly). I
NEED to modify my eating habits (all this gourmet cake we have
left over from the party is killing me), and I need to stop
feeling so guilty about leaving DC and DH to exercise. MIL
comes over often and gives me a total guilt trip about not
cleaning up the house and/or leaving DH at home for an hour. I
wish he'd exercise, so we could trade off, and I'd feel it was
more balanced when he gets home each day. So, now, I put it
off till late at night, and by then, it's too dark or I have
no more energy. It's a bad cycle.
My goals are:
1) Sign up for the new gym
2) Go to spin classes at least 3-4x per week
3) run at least 2x per week
4) fit in some resistance (15 min. 3-4x per week)
5) Eat more plants and fewer sweets
