Very visual demonstration of a useful process. The gradients can be used for so many other Photoshop techniques. Thanks XplittR.
How to make your own gradients
Here I will show you how to make gradient maps.
Requirements:
- Adobe Photoshop (I use CS3. Please do not pirate Adobe's products)
- General knowledge in how to use the tools in Adobe Photoshop
Difficulty:
-Novice
Explanations:
- If I use singlequotes ( ' ) then it is to mark a tool.
Step 1: Starting
First you make a new image, and it doesn't matter if it's empty or not.
Step 2: Maneuvering
Then click the Gradient button.
Click New.
Step 3: Making the gradient
1. Click the color you want to change.
2. Click to change the color.
3. Select the location on the Gradient bar.
Step 4: Adding spots
Click where I have marked a red spot, to make a new spot.
Repeat step 3 until you get the gradient you want.
Example:
This is just an example of how an good gradient could look like when its done
